LAURA
OWNER & HEAD TRAINER

I created PG Strength Club so that I can share the power of a strong body with others! I am a certified Personal Trainer, Weight Loss Specialist, and Small Group PT Instructor through The National Academy of Sports Medicine. I am also certified through PROnatal with a Pre/Postnatal Performance Training certification.

I have experience in competitive powerlifting and I like to weave breath-work, yoga-style stretching, and the fun explosiveness of boxing into my sessions. My goal is to create a fun and challenging program tailored to each client, progressing them through both their strengths and weaknesses. I am so excited to be able to offer a space where people can learn about themselves and uncover their strengths, unlocking new potential for their lives.

TRAINER

I am so excited to be joining the PG Strength Club team. My journey with fitness started back in high school as I was learning how to build a healthier relationship with food and movement, and I’ve been hooked since.

My career started as a coach at Orangetheory, then became the Head Trainer at a local F45, and I am now part of the crew at WØRK DC Fitness, a local boutique studio. Throughout my career, I’ve found that the thing I love most about training is helping people surprise themselves with what they’re capable of - whether it’s lifting heavier, gaining confidence (in and out of the gym), or just feeling stronger overall!

Outside of the gym, I’m a dog mom to a very sassy Yorkie mix named Disco, a huge foodie with a soft spot for sweet treats, and I love some quality time with friends and making new connections in my community. I can’t wait to meet you, cheer you on, and help you crush your goals - I’m so happy to be here!

THE GYM

PGSC originated at a private garage gym and has since expanded several times since 2021. PGSC is now housed in a private gym within a shared warehouse in Brentwood. The gym is home to select cardio equipment and free weights of all shapes and sizes- everything you need to get a great workout, every time. When you step into these spaces, you are the only thing that matters.

MEET THE PGSC MASCOT

KINDU

Kindu is my beloved mutt who is a spritied staple around PGSC. He can often be found napping in the garage or zooming around the yard. Kindu might not be great at deadlifting, but he will be there to encourage you through yours, and offer lots of love after!

MISSION & VALUES

MISSION STATEMENT

PG Strength Club aims to help people on the journey to finding the strength within themselves. Physical strength is acquired once a person has a better understanding of their body. Emotional and mental strength thrives on a body that knows itself. Our goal is to help people make this connection, deliver goal-oriented workouts and help make lifestyle changes to promote health and wellness.

CORE VALUES

KNOWLEDGE

PG Strength Club wants to bring only the best in fitness to its clients for real results. With the support of real science and research, nationally accredited certifications, and the passion to be in the lead of cutting-edge fitness, I will always do just that. All trainers at PG Strength Club must hold a valid and up-to-date certification from a nationally accredited organization. This will never mean the promotion of any fad fitness trend that is not meant to help people with their goals.

COMMUNITY

PG Strength Club takes being a part of the community seriously. Helping to support other small, local businesses around us is our goal. PG Strength club thrives on community and without inclusion, there is no community. Understanding the social inequalities deeply rooted in our country’s systems and a commitment to join the fight to break them down and rebuild a fair system is something PG Strength Club will always show up for.

PROFESSIONALISM

When you hire a personal trainer you are hiring someone to be a part of your team. Trainers will maintain a professional and supportive relationship with their clients.

FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FROM MY FIRST SESSION AT PCGC?

  • The first half of your session will be completing paperwork and performing some breathing, alignment, and movement assessments. Then you will get into your workout which will be a dynamic warm-up, total body strength circuit, and stretching to cool down.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO PGSC?

  • Come prepared to workout! Comfortable sneakers and layered workout clothes are the best way to go. PGSC does have heat in the winter but it can still be drafty in the garage. In the warmer months be prepared to sweat! Except on the most brutal days of the year, the garage doors will be open and big fans blowing!

IS THERE A BATHROOM?

  • Yes! There is a bathroom available inside my home for you to use. Note that this is just a powder room, there is no shower available.

WHAT MAKES PGSC DIFFERENT FROM OTHER GYMS?

  • PGSC does not offer a variety of cardio equipment or weight machines like most commercial gyms. What PGSC does offer is one-on-one privacy and attention. PGSC is a private gym and you will be the only person in the gym during your designated session. Your personal trainer will guide you through your entire workout, making sure you are executing each exercise properly and effectively.

DOES PGSC HAVE OPEN GYM HOURS FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT TO BE MEMBERS AND WORKOUT ALONE?

  • The short answer is no, not at this time. In the future PGSC plans to offer this as an option. If you are interested in being a member of PGSC but are not interested in one-on-one personal training, please reach out and talk to us about it! We want to offer a little something for everyone as we are able to!
